Christ-Centered Washington Wedding – Jeremy & Elise

We had the joy of traveling to Jeremy and Elise’s wedding in western Washington, and it was such a beautiful celebration of God’s faithfulness and their Christ-centered relationship.

The day began with Elise and her bridesmaids getting ready to worship music, surrounded by friends and sisters who had walked alongside her through many seasons of life. When Elise and Jeremy had their first look, his eyes filled with tears as he embraced his bride. Their personal vows to each other were full of emotion, as they marveled at how God had brought them together. It was a moment that celebrated not only their love for each other but the deep faithfulness of the Lord who had united them.

I loved getting the chance to hear their love story earlier when I had met with Elise & Jeremy. Their story is such a testament to God’s timing and faithfulness. Both Jeremy and Elise spent the summer of 2022 praying for their future spouses. Elise wasn’t sure how or when God would bring someone into her life, while Jeremy prayed for God to bring the right person at the right time.

In September 2022, they both attended the same wedding, though they didn’t know each other yet. Over the next month, Jeremy was encouraged by several people from Elise’s church to meet her, though Elise herself was hesitant when others tried to set them up. Still, Jeremy felt a sense of direction from the Lord and decided to visit Elise’s church. That day, rather than meeting Elise directly, he felt led to speak with her father, Nils. It was a pivotal moment, as both Nils and Elise deeply valued this approach, though Elise didn’t know anything about it at the time.

As the weeks passed, Elise gradually became open to the idea of meeting Jeremy. Their first few dates revealed how much they had in common, especially in their shared love for the Lord. Elise slowly began to see God’s hand in bringing them together. Over the following months, their relationship deepened as they both experienced answers to their prayers in ways they hadn’t expected. God was working in their hearts—Jeremy learning patience and Elise learning to trust His timing. God was doing it. Just like they had prayed He would.

It was over the summer of 2023 after getting to work at the same camp together, that Elise was convinced that Jeremy was the man God had brought for her to spend the rest of her life with.

On a special day in September, just a year after they had first met, Jeremy reenacted their first four dates, and asked Elise to be his wife. And she joyfully said, YES! The ring he gave her was engraved with a verse that had been significant to them both throughout their relationship: “You have made us glad, O Lord, by what You have done. I will triumph in the works of Your hands.” — Psalm 92:4.

Their wedding was a beautiful reminder of how God’s plans are always perfect, and how He brings relationships together for His glory. It wasn’t just a celebration of Jeremy and Elise’s love, but a testimony to the faithfulness of God in bringing two hearts together. I hope these pictures capture that same sense of joy and wonder, encouraging us all to trust in God’s perfect timing and goodness in our own lives.
