It was a beautiful Saturday in western Washington. The clouds covered the sky like a light blanket, softly illuminating everything beneath it. Beautiful flowers were just starting to bloom with color, creating a lovely spring scene. And everything was set with beautiful purple ribbons and flowers for Esther & Josiah's Wedding Day.
JOSIAH & ESTHER'S PURPLE SPRING WEDDING IN WASHINGTON
Getting Ready:
When we arrived at the lake house, the last touches were being done on Esther's hair, the girls were finishing getting ready and Esther's sweet sisters were creating her stunning bouquet. Esther had all of her details ready to be photographed from the gorgeous white lace heels to the sparkling earrings, necklace, and wedding rings. It was a perfect start to the day, and everyone couldn't be more joyful!
First Look:
Once the Bride arrived at the Lady Florence Home, we positioned the groom in a tucked-away spot for the moment he would get to see his bride for the first time. As Esther walked along the path her veil elegantly trailed behind. The moment she tapped on his shoulder his face showed the reaction of pure joy in seeing his bride for the first time on their wedding day. Following their sweet moment, we flowed right into bride and groom photos. They acted like naturals in front of the camera, and from the photos, you can tell just how happy they were! Some of the most dreamy photos were taken with Esther's long veil flowing out behind her!
Wedding Party Portraits:
After the Bride & Groom photos, we jumped right into gathering the Bridal party together for portraits. It was so sweet to see the amazing group of friends and family that Esther & Josiah have supporting them in this exciting new season of marriage. So many of them helped in various ways putting on the whole wedding from the decorations, to the timeline, and everything in between. Even though it was a little chilly outside, everyone did a wonderful job to help make these photos turn out perfectly! I loved how the girls all had green ribbons tied to their bouquets, and the guys all had their custom engraved knives. Once we were done with Family & Bridal party photos it was time to get these two married!
Ceremony:
The ceremony was decorated beautifully with lanterns and purple ribbons trailing the aisle. The processional began with the bridal party and then the groom coming down to the song "The Imperial March" from Star Wars. Then followed the cutest little flower girls and ring bearers who were nieces and nephews of the Bride & Groom. Then the big moment came with the Bride walking down the aisle arm in arm with her Dad to the song "How Beautiful" (Twila Paris), while her groom was beaming from the stage the whole time. There were many special events within the ceremony including a song they sang together, pouring of the unity sand, communion, and vows to each other. Once they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Josiah Nelson, the groom, dipped his bride for the kiss.
Reception & Exit:
After taking "Just Married" photos, Esther & Josiah made their grand entrance into the reception. The groomsmen and bridesmaids blessed them with sweet words of encouragement and toasts. It was so sweet to hear the memories, challenges, and encouragement they shared. Following the delicious dinner, the bride & groom along with the bride's father and some of their family played "Pachelbel's Canon in D" together as a tradition of the Bride's family. They followed the song with a cake cutting and the formal dances. During the daddy-daughter dance, Esther looked radiant as she danced with her dad. Then everyone was invited onto the dance floor for swing dancing after the bouquet and garter were tossed. The night was completed by a sparkler exit with everyone cheering for the bride and groom as they ran down the exit aisle to their honeymoon! It was such a beautiful wedding in every way! Thank you Esther & Josiah for entrusting me to capture this very special day in your story!
Love,
